The U-Share project aims to increase interactions and collaboration between Uppsala’s two universities, Uppsala University (UU) and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). This applies to both education, research, infrastructure and clinical activities.
The project focuses primarily, but not exclusively, on interactions between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at SLU and the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy at UU. The overarching goal is to establish Uppsala as Sweden’s scientific centre for comparative, translational research on animals and humans.
Activities in U-Share’s include to increase the mobility between the universities, for both students, teachers and researchers, e.g. by facilitating for students to take courses at both universities, and to support and facilitate the planning of common research projects. Another aim is to develop common, state-of-the-art facilities for experimental surgery on larger animals.
